In this role, Program Chair will manage the Graphic Design and Photography programs on a daily basis including: class scheduling, faculty management, department budget management, program retention monitoring; and advise students regarding academic progress.
Supervision of faculty in department
interviewing, hiring, conducting performance appraisals, IQR processing, and verifying hours worked
Mediation and Resolution of concerns for students and faculty
Assist with student registration, academic advice, and core course specific transcript evaluation
Maintain student retention in program
Develop, implement, and maintain program curriculum
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and maintain departmental regulatory compliance standards
Work with other faculty in resolving student concerns
Ongoing Instructor feedback and evaluation
Maintain currency of program, curriculum, and equipment
Advisory board meetings attended and arrange
Minimum of one course taught per calendar year
Facilitate internship programs and showcase opportunities for students
Special Projects
Other duties as assigned
